Down Days.

I could bore you with my credentials and reasons why I give good advice. I could ravish you with information about how I love horror movies, Star Wars, board games, zombies and anything else culturally shunned. But I won't, I'm getting to the meat of the blog right out of the box. And like Leather-face, before me cutting through the proverbial fat that is modern relationships in the 2001 space oddity age. Read it, or don't, but it's what I feel is true. If it helps you, dear friend than my purpose has been filled.

Needless to say, I have found my geek soulmate. He's fun and hot and loves the same things I do. We play D&D on Saturdays, have long discussions about genre movies during the week and try to fit in the correct movie quotes in polite conversation. However, this weekend was a test of our fortitude. But, it showed me something that I've had to learn in my 26 years of existence. Something I never thought was possible to get passed. The "down day". See life isn't as fairy-tale like as we hope. Realistically, every great romance has a few side steps now and then. Even Wesley and Buttercup had to deal with some bullshit (yes, being "almost dead" or "almost marrying a total douchebag= some bullshit). The important thing is, to be honest to you're partener if you're feeling a little "meh". Even if it's because you're car won't start or you have a headache, or worse. So keep the lines of communication open, love unconditionally, and don't sweat the small stuff. Then, even you, faithful viewer can get through the stickiest of situations, like almost getting smashed in the trash compactor of the DeathStar.

Until next time, same Bat Time-Same Bat Channel :).
